- Nairobi CORD Members of County Assembly threatened to disrupt an event officiated by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy
- This is because they wanted CORD leader Raila Odinga to officially open the newly refurbished County Assembly House
- Following this, Uhuru and Ruto did not show up for the event even though they had already confirmed attendance
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy, William Ruto skipped an event where they were supposed to officially open a newly renovated assembly house for Nairobi Members of County Assembly.
Their absence could be attributed to threats made by CORD legislators, yesterday, Monday, August 29, to disrupt the event because they wanted Raila Odinga to open the new August House.
It is believed that political rivalry over who should officiate opening of new Nairobi County Assembly chamber forced event to be put off.
