Kenyans have expressed different opinions on the nomination of Martha Koome as the country's next chief justice.
The 61-year-old was selected as the 15th CJ and president of the Supreme Court after she topped in interviews conducted by the Judicial Service Commission.
According to a TUKO.co.ke poll taken on Twitter between Tuesday, April 27 and Wednesday, April 28, over 48% of Kenyans believe Koome was the best candidate in the just concluded JSC interviews for the CJ position.

Nineteen per cent of netizens, however, stated the Court of Appeal judge did not deserve to be nominated for the top job, whereas 8% said JSC had made history by picking a woman as head of the judiciary.
Twenty-two per cent of Kenyans, nevertheless, want the JSC to announce full results showing what each candidate scored in the interviews.
On Facebook, Kenyans were sharply divided over her recommendation by the JSC.

The JSC Vice-Chairperson Olive Mugenda said the commission unanimously agreed to pick Koome as CJ after she topped in the interviews.
The former Kenyatta University vice-chancellor said they had forwarded Koome's name to President Uhuru Kenyatta for appointment as David Maraga's successor.

Other candidates interviewed for the position were Justice Said Juma Chitembwe, Professor Patricia Mbote, Philip Murgor, Lawyer Fredrick Ngatia, Justice Marete Njagi, Justice Matthews Nduma Nderi, Justice William Ouko, Moni Wekesa and Alice Yano.
