Wanjigi who is on a four-day tour to popularise his presidential bid is challenging Raila for the Orange party ticket ahead of the 2022 General Election.

The Murang'a tycoon arrived in the lakeside in the midmorning of Thursday, September 19, to arousing welcome by a section of the party supporters.

He held a brief press briefing at the Kisumu International Aiport where he launched a scathing attack on the former premier.

The party leadership in Nyanza had dismissed Wanjigi's visit as a private affair that the political outfit was not aware of.

"I saw some letter saying ODM officials are not aware of my visit. Why do I need permission to visit Nyanza or any other place in this country? This is a free country and I am an ODM member who will tour the region and popularise the party the best way I know how. I am a die-hard member of ODM so nobody should restrict my movement. This is a democracy," he stated.

Wanjigi insisted time had come for the party leader Raila Odinga to exit the stage as he no longer has the vigour and vitality required of a presidential candidate.

He wondered why supporters of Raila, who had admitted he was left with a single bullet for his last stab at the presidency, were getting jittery at his (Wanjigi) State House bid.

"Baba told us he has one last bullet. I am his last bullet. It is time for fresh blood," he told the crowd.
