Deputy President William Ruto has expressed confidence that he will become Kenya's fifth president.

Ruto said he would use his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party to unite Kenyans and form the next government.

"I want to tell you that all those who thought that they will lay traps for us and bring down the ruling Jubilee Party so that we lack a party to unite Kenyans, God has helped us and now we have UDA that we shall use to unite this country and God will help us to form the next government," Ruto said.

"We are going to play a sure game knowing where we are headed and what we are going to do and who we are going to work with and where we shall reach. So I want to ask you that let us not allow to engage in divisive politics, we are past that stage," he said during an engagement with small-scale traders, grassroots leaders and opinion shapers at Ngata.

The second in command spoke in Nakuru county, where he engaged the locals in drumming up support for the Hustler Nation's bottom-up economic development model on Saturday, October 2.

"It is only through the bottom-up economic model that we can provide jobs to ordinary citizens. Four million young people deserve the opportunity to work or do business. The millions of struggling enterprises, small micro medium enterprises deserve an opportunity to grow their businesses," Ruto explained.
