RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage recently took to Instagram to open up about her health journey on her one-year “healthiversary.” She shared a little bit about her fitness routine and told fans that it’s “never too late to reclaim your health.”
Michelle Visage Opens Up About Her Health Journey
Visage shared that a year ago, “out of nowhere my panic attacks started to come back after years of me keeping them at bay.” She added, “Because of my autoimmune, my body gets puffy and I gain weight very easily when I eat poorly with high inflammation foods.”
The star explained that the food she had been eating “was now backfiring and my system was attacking itself.” Because of this, she switched to a “very strict AIP [Autoimmune Protocol] regimen.” She also started incorporating more movement into her life.
She started by doing yoga and hiring a virtual trainer who “pushed me through every workout.” Visage explained that her goal was not to “be skinny,” but to build muscle. She shared that she’s now weight training six times a week.

Visage Wants to Inspire Her Followers
“I’m very proud of my journey and for the record, I love myself bigger and smaller, but this has always been about health and blood labs,” Visage wrote in her post, which features photos from the beginning of her journey through now.
Visage also mentioned “explanting,” which refers to her decision to have her breast implants removed. She opened up about the process in a documentary called Explant. In her new post, Visage called it “the best decision” ahead of her health journey.
She shared that she hopes to inspire her followers by showing “that it’s never too late to reclaim your health.” Visage added, “It won’t be fast but it’ll be worth the journey. HERE’S TO HEALTH!”
