Laine Hardy won season 17 of American Idol, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic he was unable to carry on with his debut tour. Starting May 2021, Hardy will begin his first tour since winning American Idol in 2019. It will be complete with 25 cities and will include a slew of prominent country music artists.
Coined American Idol’s “Comeback Kid,” Louisiana native Laine Hardy had a very unconventional start to his Idol journey. He originally auditioned for season 16 in 2018 and received a golden ticket, but was eliminated before the live shows.
In 2019, then 18-year-old Hardy returned not as a contestant but to play the guitar for his friend Ashton Gill’s soulful audition. The judges offered him an opportunity to audition again, and he also received a golden ticket to Hollywood. Unfortunately, Ashton Gill was eliminated during Hollywood week. Hardy went on to win the entire competition.
Laine Hardy Releases New Single
Since his time on Idol, Laine Hardy moved to Nashville and kept a decently low profile, but used his time in lockdown to produce some new music. In July 2020, Hardy released his single “Tiny Town” at the height of lockdown.
The song is a tribute to the communities his fans call home. Fans submitted video clips of their hometowns, which are featured in Hardy’s music video for the song.
‘Comeback Kid’ Announces 2021 Tour
Laine Hardy’s 25-city tour will start on May 14 in Holiday, Florida and conclude on Nov. 19 in Birmingham, Alabama. During some of the performances, Hardy will perform alongside fellow country artists Jimmie Allen, Matt Stell and Chris Bandi. For other venues, he will be an opening act for Toby Keith’s “Country Comes to Town” tour. A few smaller and more intimate shows are sprinkled in the tour schedule.
Full concert details are available on Laine Hardy’s official website. It is only a matter of time before country music fans will be able to “Party with Hardy” once again.
