Former Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okwesilieze Nwodo, has reacted to the rumoured planned defection of former President Goodluck Jonathan to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). During an appearance on Arise News on Monday, Nwodo dismissed the alleged plans by Jonathan to dump the PDP for the APC. The former Enugu governor said that joining the APC will spell doom for the former President, considering his achievements and good records in politics.

Unknown gunmen have reportedly killed four officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger State. Reports reaching Naija News at the moment confirmed that the security men were killed on Monday morning when the assailants stormed Galkogo community in Shiroro Local Government Area of the state. Six other residents according to a statement by the Niger State Police Command were as well killed in the attack.
