Bristow helicopter crashes in Lagos, 11 passengers rescued

FG Lifts Suspension On Replacement Of Old Sim Cards

The federal government of Nigeria has suspended its earlier directive which banned the registration and replacement of old sim cards. This development was made known on Thursday, 31st December in a statement by the Association of Licensed Telecoms Operators of Nigeria (ALTON). The statement signed by the ALTON Chairman, Engr Gbenga Adebayo, and its Publicity Secretary, Mr. Damian Udeh, noted however that the replacement and activation of old Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) cards can only be done on the condition that the person must have enrolled and obtained the National Identification Number (NIN).

First general manager of NAN Onuorah Nzekwu dies at 89

Onuorah Nzekwu, an author who wrote one of Nigeria's most popular novels for kids 'Eze goes to school' has died. News Agency of Nigeria reports that Nzekwu, the pioneer general manager of the agency, died on Friday, April 21. The death has been confirmed by his family, the report says. Nzekwu died by 4.30pm at his home in Onitsha, Anambra state, where he had been living in retirement, a family member Louis Chuke said.
