The Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has bagged a chieftaincy title in Gbaramatu Kingdom in Delta State.
Tinubu was conferred with the title Iyelawei of Gbaramatu Kingdom when he visited the Pere of Gbaramatu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oboro- Gbaraun II, Aketekpe Agadagba, on Friday.
As part of his strategic engagement with stakeholders ahead of the 2023 election, Tinubu visited Oporoza, the ancestral headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu begged the monarch to tell the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to stop contesting for the Presidency.
He said: “One says he is Atiku. How many times has he been running? He’s always on the run. He is never tired of running. Tell him to go and sit down.”
The APC candidate also mocked the presidential candidate of the Labor Party (LP), Peter Obi, for his statistics and data presentations.
He claimed that Obi gives wrong statistics and wrong arithmetic of the economy.
“No Indian can solve it. To mention his name is a disgrace to me,” he said.
The APC candidate also held a closed-door meeting with Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo.
Naija News reports that Tompolo is a former commander of a Militant group and leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND).
Tinubu visited Tompolo alongside traditional rulers and other Niger Delta stakeholders, where he interacted with the community on his plans ahead of the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
He was accompanied by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and other APC chieftains.
Recall that the former Lagos governor was in Delta State barely two weeks ago, during which he launched the campaign of APC for the 2023 election at a well-attended rally in Warri.
